Kelly Boyette

Executive Director

Kelly Boyette is the Executive Director at SomerOak Senior Living. She worked for ten years as a paraprofessional in the school system in the Special Education department. Later, Kelly decided to further her education and attended the University of Memphis graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology. Upon completing her degree, she took a position in a long term care facility and worked in the Memory care unit with residents who had dementia/Alzheimer’s. She loved to fill their halls with music, smiles, and laughter. It was here she found love and desire to work with the senior population.

Kelly began her career with SomerOak as the Activity Director and was named Executive Director in 2020. She feels honored to be able to work with such a wonderful and loving community as SomerOak, where we make our residents our number one priority.

Margaret Phillips, LPN

Director of Nursing

Margaret describes herself as a Christian first, then Mother and Nurse. She has four children and two grandchildren and has been a widow for 21 years.

Margaret became our Director of Nursing in May 2015 after working for us part-time for 18 months. She has been a nurse for 17 years and in the healthcare field for 24 years, with most of her experience in geriatrics.

Our Residents and families all know that Margaret’s main objective is caring for her Residents, all referenced by her as “her babies.” Her number one goal is putting their safety and happiness first.

Jesslyn Neal

Activity Director

Jesslyn is the Activity Director for SomerOak Senior Living. She has worked with the senior population for 15 years serving their many daily needs. Jesslyn came to us in June 2020 to begin her work here with us. Her love for the older generation is obvious and she works hard to fill our building with laughter, love and smiles. Jesslyn was raised in the Collierville area and has one daughter. She has a twin sister and 2 older brothers. She enjoys spending time with family and enjoying the outdoors.

Annie Watson

Dietary Manager

Annie, the Dietary Manager, has been cooking for the Residents at SomerOak for seven years. She is loved by all who sit at her table for a meal, both Residents and family. Annie loves to cook and it shows in each dish she prepares. It is very obvious that she puts time, effort and, most importantly, lots of love into each meal. She makes sure that each plate she serves looks inviting and tastes delicious. Annie is well-known for many dishes, but the Residents are especially fond of her fried cornbread, turnip greens and Southern-fried catfish! We have several families who make it a practice to dine with us at least once a week to eat some of Annie’s down-home, Southern recipes.

For the last 23 years, Annie has worked for a number of Senior Communities as a Resident Assistant and as a cook. Her passion, however, is cooking and it shows in everything she serves. When not at SomerOak, Annie enjoys cooking for her family and friends and she is not afraid to try new recipes. SomerOak is very blessed to have her as part of our team.

Garland Greer

Maintenance Director

Garland is the Maintenance Director at SomerOak Senior Living, and he is responsible for keeping everyone and everything up and running! He does a wonderful job making sure our building is always in top-notch condition. Garland has been at SomerOak since 2012. Upon retiring from Malone and Hyde, Garland worked for a senior apartment complex before coming to work at SomerOak. His servant’s heart is geared toward seniors and making our residents safe and happy. In fact, his nickname at SomerOak is “Mr. Darling!”
